Strength and Balance Training

Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire (VAER) are offering Strength & Balance training for staff and volunteers who are interested in leading their own chair-based or strength & balance exercise sessions in their communities or services.

These sessions are ideal for care homes, day services, men’s/women’s groups, or organisations supporting individuals with additional support needs—especially if you're looking to offer gentle, accessible exercise that helps improve confidence, mobility, and prevent falls.

Dates of training

  • Tuesday 16th of September: 10am–2pm
  • Tuesday 23rd September: 10am–2pm

Venue: Barrhead Foundry

Each session lasts 4 hours, including a 15-minute tea break.

This training will give attendees the confidence and skills to run their own classes—and we’re here to support you even if this is something completely new to your organisation.

If the September dates don’t work for you, additional training will be offered in October, November, February, and March, and we’ll share those dates closer to the time.
