These are obviously very challenging and difficult times for us as a church family. Our Bible verses for today remind us of the need to seek God's kingdom and his righteousness above all else, and to trust that God will provide all that we need (not necessarily all that we want!). Each day certainly does have enough trouble of it's own just now, but I feel strongly that God will work in a new way in us and through us during these coming months if we continue to trust and to put God first. I would encourage you all to read Matthew 6:25-34 and to reflect on it in the light of our own circumstances as a church, and also your own individual challenges.
And can I urge you above all to keep praying earnestly, as we are encouraged to do over and over again in the Scriptures. Please pray especially for Jim and the rest of the roof management team as they continue to seek wisdom and guidance for the way forward, and for us as a Kirk Session. Pray also for Sarah as she faces challenges with seeking alternative accommodation for activities and gets used to a very different working pattern. We are absolutely indebted to Jim and his team for their work to date, and we hold them in prayer through these coming months.
And also, please do give thanks and rejoice in God's faithful provision. Despite the enormity of the challenges facing us, we are well supported by the central church and we will be able to see these works through and rejoice in brighter days ahead. We're also so thankful for our brothers and sisters at Bourock and Neilston who have reached out to offer their practical support and assistance moving forward.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
