ACORN - The 10/14 Challenge
In our housegroups at the moment we are working through the ACORN study pack, aiming to make mission into a simple daily rhythm in our lives. ACORN is all about an intentional desire to invite God to work through us in the lives of other people.
A - Ask | C - Call | O - Obey | R - Report | N - Notice
‘It is so simple and yet so exciting; God is putting us in the path of those who are calling out to Him’.
Throughout the period of Lent (Weds 18th February - Thu 2nd April), there is an opportunity to focus on the 10/14 ACORN challenge - taking 10 seconds each day to ask God a simple 14 word question: "Lord, today, is there someone You want me to connect with, beyond the church?".
We are then attentive to the Father, who may prompt us through a name that comes to mind, or an encounter with someone. We can then simply ask them, ‘How are you (really)?’ and listen, love and find out what God is doing in their life.
If something worthwhile happens, feel free to share it with Christian friends, or share your story with Paul, Acorn director in Scotland.
If you would like further support, or to receive very brief daily text message encouragement during Lent, you can also sign up on the same email address, or text his mobile number 07837903277.
If many of us do this, we will see God conversations happen everywhere. Our small steps will have a big impact. Will you start today?
Paul is also hosting an evening session here at Barrhead St Andrew's on 'How to make mission a simple daily rhythm": Sunday 1st March, 6.30-8pm.
